Campaigns Goal

The campaign goal is to create more awareness of rights for persons with disabilities in Uganda and advocate for a better inclusion and consideration. From our engagements with most PWDs, we realised that many of them did not know about their lawful rights which coils them to painfully accept mistreatment from not just the public but employers, teachers, and communities where they live.

This campaign is aimed at creating awareness and help them stand up for themselves in case of violations. Furthermore, this campaign will be useful in order to build up new partnerships with national and international stakeholders who share a common target.

There is still a lack of practical implementation towards the rights of people with disabilities in Uganda. This means in particular, that private companies, construction companies, local public transport providers, etc., need to be more aware of PWDS rights and how they can be included best in daily life as well as the future.

Accordingly, this campaign should help more people get informed and will be aware of the existence of rights for persons with disability so that in the long run, inclusion in society can be improved as best as possible.
